ഈ പദപ്രയോഗം പോലും ഒരു വേദന ആണ് മനസ്സില്‍ വരച്ചിടുക
അത് പോലെ തന്നെ, ഈ പദപ്രയോഗം ഒരു ഗള്‍ഫ്‌ മലയാളീയുടെ ചിത്രവും ആണ് നമ്മുക്ക് നല്‍കുക
NRI എന്ന പ്രയോഗം പക്ഷെ ഇത്തിരി കൂടി പോളിഷ്  ആയതു കൊണ്ട്, അതിനൊരു യുറോപിയന്‍ മുഖമുണ്ട് .

പലതരം പ്രവാസികള്‍ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും  അവര്‍ക്കൊക്കെ പലതരം ജീവിതസാഹചര്യം ആണെങ്കിലും, ഒരു പൊതുസ്വഭാവം അവര്‍ക്കുണ്ട്.(ഉണ്ടാകണമല്ലോ.
സ്വത്വചിന്തകള്‍ക്ക് പ്രസക്തി വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ മധ്യമംങ്ങളും ചിന്തകരും മിനക്കെട്ടു നടക്കുന്ന ഈ കാലത്ത് വിശേഷിച്ചും, അത്തരം സാധ്യതകള്‍, ശ്രമിച്ചാല്‍ കണ്ടെത്താന്‍ ആകുകയും ചെയ്യും)

ഇത് പറയുമ്പോള്‍ ഒരു മുന്‍വിധിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലുള്ള ഒന്നായി ഇതിനെ തള്ളി കളയരുത്.
പറയാന്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത് പ്രവാസികളുടെ നാടിനെ പറ്റിയുള്ള കാഴ്ചപാട് ആണ്

ഏതൊരു പ്രവാസിക്കും നാട് എന്ന വാക്ക് നല്‍കുന്നത് ഒരു "mixed Bag" ചിന്തകള്‍ ആണ്. മധുരസ്മരണകള്‍, അവസാനം തിരിച്ചു ചെല്ലേണ്ട ഇടം. ഈ "അന്യനാട്ടില്‍" കഷ്ടപെടുന്നതൊക്കെ ആ നാട്ടില്‍ സന്തോഷത്തോടെ, സമാധാനത്തോടെ ഒന്ന് ഉറങ്ങാന്‍ വേണ്ടിമാത്രം. പലര്‍ക്കും കോഴിക്കോട് പാളയം മാര്‍ക്കട്ടിനെക്കാള്‍  അറിയുക ഇന്ന് ദുബായ് ഡ്യൂട്ടി ഫ്രീ ആയിരിക്കും. കോഴികോട്ടെ ഹലുവ തിന്നാത്തവര്‍ ഉണ്ടാകാമെങ്കിലും  അല് ബൈക്ക് ബ്രോസ്റ്റ് തിന്നാത്തവര്‍ ചുരുക്കമായിരിക്കും. എന്നാലും അത് അന്യനാട് തന്നെ. ഒപ്പമുള്ള മക്കള്‍ ഇന്നേ വരെ കാണാത്ത ആ നാടിനെ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതും അവരുടെ സ്വന്തം നാട് ആയി തന്നെ.

മിക്ക NRI മക്കള്‍ക്കും അങ്ങനെ ഇത് രണ്ടാമത്തെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വന്തം നാട് ആയി മാറുന്നു. ആദ്യത്തേത് , പിതാവിന്റെയും പുത്രന്റെയും പരിശുദ്ധ ആത്മാവിന്റെയും  ആയ ദൈവരാജ്യം, അഥവാ സ്വര്‍ഗം. രണ്ടാമതെത് കേരളവും.

ഇത്ര വരെ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഒക്കെ നല്ലത് തന്നെ. പക്ഷെ ഇനി ആണ് ട്വിസ്റ്റ്‌.

കാര്യം ശരിയാണ്‍, കാശൊക്കെ നാട്ടിലേക്ക് അയുക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇവിടെ ഭൂമി വാങ്ങുന്നു, വീട് വൈക്കുന്നു . പക്ഷെ പ്രവാസി എന്നും പ്രവാസി തന്നെ. ഓരോ കാരണം പറഞ്ഞു നാട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള മടങ്ങിവരവ്; അതങ്ങ് നീണ്ടു നീണ്ടു പോകുന്നു.
"കടം വീട്ടിയാല്‍ അഞ്ചു കൊല്ലം , അത്രയേ ചിന്തയുള്ള്" എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു പോക്ക്. പിന്നെ, "പെങ്ങന്മാരെ കല്യാണം". അതിനു ശേഷം "എന്റെ കല്യാണം" പിന്നെ "വീട് പണി ഒന്ന് കഴിയട്ടെ";. "അനിയന്‍ ഇപ്പൊ ഇങ്ങ എത്തിയത് അല്ലെ ഉള്ളു. അതിന്റെ കടം കൂടി ഒന്ന് വീടട്ടെ". അങ്ങനെ കൊല്ലം 20 അടുക്കാരകുമ്പോ  പ്രഖ്യാപനം  "മോന്റെ പഠിപ്പ് തീരട്ടെ. അവനിങ്ങു എത്തിയാല്‍ എനിക്ക് തടിയെടുക്കാം ." അവനെത്തുമ്പോ , "ഇനി ഇപ്പൊ ഇളയ മോളുടെ കല്യാണം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട വേണം ഒന്ന് റിട്ടയര്‍ ചെയ്യാന്‍."

രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാര്‍ പോലും ഇത്ര കാലം ഒരേ സ്ഥലത്ത് ഇരിക്കാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കില്ല.

ഇത്ര അന്യമാണ് ആ നാടെങ്കില്‍ എന്ത് കൊണ്ട് അവര്‍ അവിടെ നില്കുന്നു. ഇത്ര നല്ലത് ആണ് ആ നാട് എങ്കില്‍, എന്ത് കൊണ്ട് അത് അവരുടെ നാട് ആക്കുന്നില്ല?

ഇതാണ് ഞാന്‍ മുന്നോട്ട് വെക്കുന്ന സംശയം. ഞാന്‍ നേരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകള്‍, പ്രവാസികളോട് അടുത്ത് പെരുമാറിയവര്‍ കേള്‍ക്കാതിരിക്കാന്‍ സാധ്യത ഇല്ല. വിദേശത്തെ  ജോലിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനമോ, നാട്ടില്‍ അവര്‍ക്കുള്ള സ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലോ, ഇതിനു വലിയ മാറ്റം ഒന്നുമില്ല. നാട്ടില്‍ സംരംഭങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ ആരും, വിദേശങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരിപാടി അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചല്ല അത് ചെയ്തത്.   അപൂര്‍വ്വം ചിലര്‍ അല്ലാതെയും കണ്ടേക്കാം. എന്താന്‍ അവരെ പ്രവാസികളായി തുടരാന്‍ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്?

What is the election results of Local bodies in Kerala 2010 show us?

Amongst the various comments that were given by the different leaders and analysts, I tend to pick up a few of them as valid ones.

The first one is that, both fronts did try for communal tie-ups and wherever the people found that it were only for the moment, those candidates didnt win. From this, we can see that, people still are believing in democracy and secularism. THANK GOD

The second one is that, CPM has not lost its base. The base is really strong. But this time, they have reminded their leaders strongly. Rebels winning and loosing panchayaths is not anything new. People tend to vote for candidates who are winning. But, all ideological rebels against CPM have been heavily successful.

The effect of Ottappalam and Shornur shows, that rebels were strong enough to defeat both fronts and BJP put together.

A few bad mouthing against a well performing MLA of their side cost them a lot in Malappuram. Mankada constituency has given a lead of 30000 votes to UDF. The tentative constituency seems to have a 20000 votes lead for UDF. The effect doesnt stop there. Ponnani muncipality, that is represented by one of the bad mouths in the assembly, removed a long long rule of CPM. Perintalmanna, another location that CPM suspected an effect of this also fell to draw.

The success of Onjiyam Marxist party adds up to the showing that this time, all CPM followers have ensured the party does learn their protest.

Bad sad to say, their leaders are not ready to accept their mistakes. They are trying to belittle this as a result of joining of communal forces and as a by product of a lame statement from the CM

The final conclusion that is evident from this elections is that, we are now ready for a Revolution. Despite all these, UDF victory is not because of their policies, but because of the inefficiency of LDF. BJP lost their panchayaths but extended their presence, showing they too are only considered as a tool to show protest, rather than an alternate option for the people. We lack a Leader for this revolution. Everywhere, we see this gap of aspiration and desperation. People hoped a lot in VS, but he turned out to be a big flop.

Lets hope that leader, the Swadeshabhimani;  the EMS or most hopefully a Sree Narayana Guru; of this century comes fast.

The "HAND FOR GOD"

This posting is to show my viewpoint on the incident related to the teacher from Numans college. At the time of this posting, he has been removed from the college and his students and teachers have already performed strike to take him back.

I am a college tutor and also a businessman. I would like to see this issue in a couple of perspectives and I just cannot find justice in any of the actions of the teacher himself.

A teacher, is aperson who ensures the spirits of his students are always kept alive. Presently, education systems worldwide, doesnt even allow punishments or any such discriminations, even at elementary level. How on earth, can then a tutor justify himself in placing such provocative texts? and that too, he ensured that all his students should read it over and over again, so that they had to add on quotations and symbols to it.
From different media, it is understood that one of his students, changed te names of God and mohammed to big brother and younger brother. Didnot he, an experienced teacher have even the insight of that student?
Or, why did he give that students marks, had his words no intentions of discrimination?

At times, a teachers words, while teaching a subject or while putting an exam, do move ahead from the intended level and does cross over the limit, where students gets a false idea of the intention of the tutor. I teach business in the undergraduate level and during my internal assessment papers I too slip into post graduate levels of the paper. my practical based questions do move across cultures.

But when I do that, or when I find that the mistake is visible; I am not hesitant to take it back. A teacher cannot or should not behaved so irresponsibly. even if he had no intentions, he should have been graceful enough to say his words might have hurt others and though unintentional, I do apologize. But, his arrogant nature towards that issue, does instigate some catalysts in increasing the support of the idiotic clan which thought "Hand For God" is the ideal way to react.

Regarding the action of cutting his hand, I can only say that they are in a state of mind, where they only can understand. And usually others call them mad. me too. I dont know their inspiration, whether is it from the film "for the people" or from any other hollywood flick; but I am definite the funding is from an agency that is interested in breaking the communal harmony. I do hope our police machinery keeps up the good work and bring the culprits into justice without much delay.

I salute the action taken by the management. You should not give the message to the community you live in, that you are not vigilant enough to keep the harmony of the society. He might be the best tutor in the college, but as the old proverb says പൊന്ന്‍ കായ്ക്കുന്ന കൊമ്പ് ആന്നെങ്കിലും പുരയ്ക്ക് ചാഞ്ഞാല്‍ കൊത്തണം. They have proved that they \ have no intentions to hide away or protect the tutor .
